Available Position: IT Internship
We are currently seeking an information technology intern to join our team. The position requires 35–40 hours a week in the summer and a minimum of 20 hours a week during the fall/spring semester, but scheduling is flexible. This is a paid internship with an hourly rate of $11.00/hr. Ideal candidates will be working toward an IT-related bachelor’s degree or other degree to complement their career in IT.
The IT intern’s role is to ensure proper technology operation so that end users can accomplish business tasks. This includes prioritizing, documenting, and actively resolving end user help requests, which includes installing, diagnosing, repairing, maintaining, and upgrading hardware and equipment.

Responsibilities:
- Provide support both in person and over the phone for laptops, desktops, and phones
- Wide variety of software and hardware installations, parts ordering/returns, applications support in a Windows XP/7 and Mac OSX environment
- Create, maintain, and deploy computer images
- General network maintenance and troubleshooting, including VPN and wireless
- Set up conference rooms for employees and clients
- Manage and troubleshoot office printers
- Create training guidelines to document internal processes and capabilities
- Use Active Directory and Exchange to create new users, reset passwords, add users to groups and distribution lists
- Participate in technology assessments and migration plans
- Access knowledge bases and internet-based FAQs resources on the internet to aid in problem resolution

Preferred Experience:
- Setting up and troubleshooting Apple and Dell hardware, printers, and routers
- Building computers from the ground up
- Support experience with Windows XP, Windows 7, Mac OS X, and Microsoft Office products
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
This position requires the ability to balance, bend, stoop, climb, kneel, crawl, and climb stairs; sit for sustained periods of time; use fingers and repetitive motion on computing and communications devices; ability to carry items up to 45 pounds and lift items over 45 pounds; and the ability to reach above shoulders; ability to hear and speak effectively on phone.
